Staff in the ED
We are starting a project currently to produce an electronic ‘photo board’ of our staff complete with names. This section summarises the type of staff that make up the ED clinical team:
Consultants
Middle grades – a mix of EM trainees and SAS Drs
Junior Drs – a mix of ACCS, GPVTS and foundation trainees including 2 F1 doctors who help to run CDU as well as working in ED
ENPs – Emergency Nurse Practitioners (and a Physio Practitioner) who see minor injuries and minor illnesses.
ACPs – Advanced Clinical Practitioners who see the same range of cases as the doctors. Trainee ACPs also work in the department and their patients are all reviewed similarly to patients seen by the F1s or medical students.
EDPs – Emergency Department Practitioners, who work in Resus – they are a bit like ODAs and help us manage our Resus patients safely and effectively.
GPs working in the GP stream.
